GICP Faculty
The GICP faculty design and deliver the Global Credit Certificate, and a range of specialist credit, risk and finance courses, bringing real‑world expertise from across banking, financial institutions, and global organizations.
Adam Ahmed
Adam is a full-time data analytics and AI trainer based in London. Previously, he co-developed an MSc degree apprenticeship in data science and applied mathematics, lecturing over 100 data scientists from global banks and corporates.
He is a seasoned Python developer with experience deploying Large Language Models on modern cloud architecture.
Adam has over 15 years’ industry experience in banking and manufacturing sectors. He is also a certified Islamic Finance analyst.
Catherine Bealin
Catherine is a multi-disciplinary finance professional with over 25 years of experience, specializing in corporate and financial institution credit analysis and sustainable finance. Catherine has worked for global organizations like BBH&Co, the EIB and UNDP.
She holds a BA in Political Science and Economics and an MA in International Economic Development. Catherine is currently pursuing a Masters Certification in Corporate Sustainability from the Harvard Extension School.
Chris Burnell
Chris is a Chartered Accountant (FCA) and an experienced instructor, focusing on improving learning outcomes through delegate engagement and technical skills
He delivers courses in Capital Markets, CFA Sustainable Investing, Accounting, Credit Risk, Excel, Valuation and Financial Modeling.
He has a strong interest in educational technology and data analytics to enhance training effectiveness.
Ilgiz Fazylov
Ilgiz joined Fitch Learning as a credit risk trainer in 2023. He specializes in corporate credit, debt capital markets, leveraged finance and derivatives. Prior to Fitch Learning, Ilgiz worked for over 20 years in the banking industry, including in front office and risk management roles at financial institutions, such as Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Fortis Bank, KBC, and First Abu Dhabi Bank. He has trained and coached credit analysts globally and covers industries such as Manufacturing, Commodities and Petrochemicals. Ilgiz holds an MBA from the Cranfield School of Management.
Belinda Green
Belinda is an experienced corporate banker and credit risk trainer. Following a banking career spanning 20+ years working for leading corporate and investment banks globally, she pivoted into financial training in 2014. She joined Fitch Learning as a full-time faculty member in 2023 after several years as Associate faculty. Belinda has extensive experience in designing and delivering credit programs across EMEA. Her areas of expertise include credit risk and cash flow analysis, loan structuring and documentation, identifying and managing problem loans, credit reasoning and writing, and loan portfolio management. Belinda holds a B. Com (Legal) from the University of the Witwatersrand.
Jo Lock
Jo is Head of Credit and Risk Training at Fitch Learning and joined the company after spending the first 20 years of her career in the banking industry, working at BNP Paribas, CIBC, Northern Trust and at a family office. A seasoned finance-professional, Jo specializes in credit risk management and sustainability-related credit risk, mainly in the financial institutions space. Jo is also Head of Faculty for the Corporate Solutions trainer team. Jo’s industry experience and knowledge is well-utilized in designing and delivering credit and risk programs globally for a diverse client base. Jo holds a B.Com with German from the University of Birmingham and the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership’s certificate in Sustainable Finance. Jo is a member of the GICP Syllabus Committee.
Elena Pellegrini
Elena is a specialist corporate credit trainer in our faculty, with over a decade of financial services industry experience working in credit analysis, credit ratings, accounting and audit.
Elena’s expertise in corporate credit analysis and ratings provides a solid foundation for instructing on various related topics, such as financial statement analysis, business plan evaluation, credit risk assessment, and the integration of ESG factors into credit ratings.
Elena brings solid industry experience to Fitch Learning, previously serving as Vice President of the Rating Committee at ION Group – Cerved Rating Agency, evaluating the creditworthiness of corporate clients and large groups. Prior to that, she worked in the Deal Advisory – Transaction Services division at KPMG, where she conducted financial due diligence for private equity and corporate clients. Her diverse, technical background and expertise ensures participants receive a well-rounded and practical learning experience.
Paul Rodgers
Paul is a seasoned financial trainer specializing in IFRS, US GAAP, financial analysis, and creative accounting, also covering credit analysis and FRS 102. He has over twenty years of training experience. Paul started his career at Ernst & Young, was Finance Director at Hermes ATS, and a main board director at a national financial training company. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (FCA) and holds a DipIFR.
Philip Waddilove
Philip is a financial trainer at Fitch Learning with 15 years experience in corporate and investment banking in London and New York. He has professional experience in corporate finance, debt and equity capital markets, M&A, LBO modeling and corporate credit topics.
Philip started his career in London, specializing in debt capital markets advisory, structuring and execution. He holds a BSc in Mathematics.
David Wong
David is an expert credit ratings analyst and financial trainer with a combined 25+ years’ experience in emerging markets fixed income trading, credit analysis, and financial training. At Fitch Learning his expertise in credit drives courses on topics including global markets, credit analysis, risk management, and relationship management. He has delivered tailored courses to finance professionals based in Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.
David holds an MA in Astrophysics from the University of Cambridge.
Maya Younes
Maya is a full-time credit trainer at Fitch Learning in Dubai, specializing in corporate credit, corporate finance, and ESG. She joined Fitch after a decade of experience in corporate banking, credit risk, and wealth management. Maya previously worked at a multi-family office in Geneva and as a senior credit risk practitioner at Audi Bank, Lebanon. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics & Finance, a Global MBA from the Lebanese American University, and a certificate in commercial real estate analysis from MIT. Maya is a member of the GICP Syllabus Committee.
